Basic Function

The Journeyman Electrician fosters an environment of construction execution excellence. As well as building a culture of providing solutions, not problems. S/he will assist the Construction Supervisor with the organization of the day to day activities on the job site. The Jman Electrician will ensure that activities are being completed safely and efficiently all while upholding a strong dedication to quality.  S/he will be knowledgeable in all areas of electrical maintenance and construction. The Jman Electrician works closely with the Construction Supervisor to ensure that projects are profitable and delivered on time.

Qualifications

Education

  • Alberta Jman Electrician minimum

Experience

  • 3+ years’ experience in electrical

Skills

  • Knowledgeable in civil construction
  • Computer competency
  • Working at Heights up to 60ft
  • Ability to coach and mentor apprentices
  • Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and clients
  • Must have a valid driver’s license

Duties

  • Uphold core corporate values
  • Provide positive examples of conduct, safety and mentoring to direct reports
  • Coach and mentor apprentices
  • From time to time, you will be required to provide afterhours support
  • Hold daily tailboard meetings with Direct reports
  • Repair & trouble shoot electrical issues
  • Review project safety & environmental policies & procedures with direct reports
  • Review & understand project schedule & milestones
  • Submitting daily timesheets to Iconic office and help minimalize overtime

Operations

  • Coordinate with Supervisor to ensure that client needs are being met or exceeded
  • Identify potential project scope change to Supervisor’s

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring every team member gets home safely.
  • Ensuring all direct reports complete the duties in their respective job descriptions.
  • Review and understand corporate policies/procedures.
  • Review and understand project schedule/milestones
  • Participate in day to day resource allocation planning with Construction Supervisor
  • Coordinate day to day work scope with Construction Supervisor
  • Coordinate day to day material needs
  • Assist with QC inspections and documentation
