SUMMARY

The Journeyperson Boom Truck Operator fosters an environment of construction execution excellence. As well as building a culture of providing solutions, not problems. The Journeyperson Boom Truck Operator will ensure that activities are being completed safely and efficiently all while upholding a strong dedication to quality.  They will be knowledgeable in all areas of crane and heavy truck operation. The Journeyperson Boom Truck Operator works closely with the construction crews to ensure that projects are profitable and delivered on time.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Alberta Journeyperson Boom Truck Operator Certificate or equivalent.
  • Class 3 drivers license (Class 1 is considered a benefit).
  • Transportation of Dangerous Goods training is considered an asset.
  • 3+ years’ experience operating a boom truck.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

DUTIES:

  • Responsible for loads, assembly of apparatus/steel, and off-loads utilizing the Boom Truck.
  • Ensures proper material and quantity, rigging, planning, hoisting, balance, weight limits, binding/securing of load.
  • Maintains and keeps Boom Truck interior and exterior clean
  • Report needed repairs to the shop immediately.
  • Submit timely and accurate paperwork, i.e., logbooks, Crane inspections and other reporting as required.
  • Complies with pre- and post-trip inspections of vehicle according to regulations.
  • Must be open to performing additional duties as assigned by supervisor in the completion of the project construction.
  • Other duties as required.
