Basic Function

Reporting to the Quality Manager of Iconic Power Systems, the Quality Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that all aspects of the Quality Management System (QMS) are implemented and adhered to. The Quality Coordinator helps to plan, implement, monitor, and review the proactive and preventative measures that the company has in place, and works to minimize operational losses whilst maintaining the highest standard of quality.

Qualifications

Education

  • PSE, PLT or Journeyman Electrician designation.
  • Formal construction management training from a recognized technical institute is considered an asset.
  • ISO 9001 or 27001 training is considered an asset.
  • ASET qualifications considered an asset.

Experience

  • 3+ years of oil sands quality assurance experience.
  • 5+ years of Substation Construction experience.
  • 5+ years’ experience quality assurance and quality control experience.
  • Experience in High Voltage Construction.

Skills

  • Knowledge of Substation Construction and associated quality control hold points.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 (Excel, Word etc.)
  • Ability to positively influence co-workers regarding quality assurance procedures.
  • Thorough understanding of all client related technical specifications and turnover requirements (ENMAX, AML, ATCO, SaskPower, Suncor).
  • Proficiency in establishing and nurturing client connections.
  • Ensure excellent supervision and oversight.

Other

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.

Duties

  • Understand client specific quality requirements and implement throughout project as appropriate.
  • Work with Client Quality Coordinator to identify, agree and deliver all client related reports.
  • Control, initiate and conduct any inspections and tests required by the ITP.
  • Development of Project specific ITPs as required.
  • Reviewing and approving of subcontractor ITPs.
  • While on site, support the Site Supervisor with the receiving and inspection of material and inspection of client document transmittals.
  • While on site, support the Site Supervisor with the development and submittal of all contractual project deliverables associated with quality binders and turnover, as well as the development of RFI’s (particularly ones associated with quality specifications and standards).
  • Report and track all deficiencies.
  • Initiating NCRs as required by the QMS.
  • Attending on-site meetings when required to represent the company on quality matters.
  • Maintaining quality related folders within the Iconic network drives.
  • Perform quality audits during the project life cycle.
  • Any other duties as required to support Site Supervisor and Project Team.
